What Fokus adds

Not a mirror of the other tool — capabilities that only exist once the two are connected.

Tasks arrive with their context

Todoist priorities and labels survive the trip — a p1 in Todoist is urgent in Fokus, and your label system keeps meaning something.

Real-time, both directions

Todoist webhooks push changes to Fokus the moment they happen; edits and completions in Fokus write back through the API just as fast.

Sync behavior you define per action

Completed, updated, deleted — for each event, in each direction, you choose the consequence: close, sync, delete, complete, or do nothing. No surprises in either system.

Per-project auto-import

Choose which Todoist projects feed your plan — “Work” syncs, “Someday/Maybe” doesn’t have to.

How the sync works

Two-way sync

Under the hood

Todoist webhooks stream changes to Fokus in real time; your per-action sync rules decide what each change does on the other side.

  • A task is added to an enabled project

It appears in Fokus with priority and labels

  • You complete the task in Fokus

Your rule runs in Todoist — complete it, close it, or leave it

  • A task is updated in Todoist

Your rule runs in Fokus — sync the changes or ignore them

Settings, explained

The controls you actually get after connecting — exactly as they appear in Settings → Integrations.

Sync Settings

Auto-Import picks the projects; Sync Settings defines what happens on completed / updated / deleted — separately for each direction:

  • Auto-Import Settings · toggle individual projects

    • Inbox
    • Work
    • Side project

Only enabled projects import their tasks into Fokus.

  • Fokus → Todoist · On task completed

What happens in Todoist when you complete a task in Fokus. Options: Close task, Sync changes, Delete task, Complete task, Do nothing.

  • Fokus → Todoist · On task deleted

Deleting in Fokus doesn’t have to touch Todoist — unless you want it to.

  • Todoist → Fokus · On task completed

Check it off on your phone in Todoist; the Fokus task — and its time block — resolve too.

  • Todoist → Fokus · On task updated

Renames, priority changes and label edits in Todoist flow into the Fokus copy.

Panel shown as it appears in the Fokus app. Every control is optional — defaults work out of the box.
