Note Taking

Two-way sync

Notion holds the database. Fokus works the rows.

Import pages from the databases you choose — properties mapped automatically, content converted faithfully — and sync completion back as a checkbox, a status, or an archive.

What Fokus adds

Not a mirror of the other tool — capabilities that only exist once the two are connected.

Databases become task sources

Pages from enabled Notion databases arrive in Fokus with their properties mapped to task fields automatically — due dates, status and more land where they belong.

Content survives the trip

Notion blocks convert to the Fokus editor and back — headings, lists, checkboxes. Open the task and the page’s substance is there, not a bare link.

Browse and search your workspace

Find databases and pages from inside Fokus and pull in exactly what you need, when you need it.

Completion, the Notion way

When a task completes, Fokus can check the page’s done checkbox, set its status property to done, or archive it — matching however your database models “finished”.

How the sync works

Two-way sync

Under the hood

Notion webhooks push page changes to Fokus as they happen; your per-action rules decide what each change does on the other side.

  • A page is added to an enabled database

It appears in Fokus with mapped properties

  • You complete the task in Fokus

Your rule runs in Notion — check the box, set the status, or archive

  • A page is updated in Notion

Your rule runs in Fokus — sync the changes or ignore them

Settings, explained

The controls you actually get after connecting — exactly as they appear in Settings → Integrations.

Sync Settings

Auto-Import picks the databases; Sync Settings defines the consequences — with Notion-specific completion options:

  • Auto-Import Settings · toggle individual databases

    • Tasks DB
    • Content calendar

Only databases shared with Fokus appear here; only enabled ones import their pages.

  • Fokus → Notion · On task completed

Notion-specific options: Archive page, Check done checkbox, Set status to done — plus Sync changes, Delete task, Do nothing.

  • Notion → Fokus · On page completed

When a Notion page is marked done, the Fokus task resolves too.

  • Notion → Fokus · On page updated

Property and content changes in Notion flow into the Fokus task.

Panel shown as it appears in the Fokus app. Every control is optional — defaults work out of the box.
