Toggl Track

Time & Health

Two-way sync

Every focus session, on the clock.

The Fokus timer drives Toggl Track automatically — start, pause, stop, all mirrored — and completed tasks can log their tracked time as entries, mapped to the right projects.

What Fokus adds

Not a mirror of the other tool — capabilities that only exist once the two are connected.

One timer, two systems

Start, pause or stop the Fokus timer and Toggl Track follows automatically — no double bookkeeping, no forgotten timers.

Completions become time entries

Finish a task and Fokus can create a Toggl entry with the actual tracked time — your timesheet writes itself while you work.

Buckets map to projects

Map each Fokus bucket to a Toggl workspace, project, tags — and billable status, if your Toggl plan supports it. Client work lands on the client project without you thinking about it.

Track everything by default

Turn on “Track all by default” and every task logs time without per-task setup — opt out where it doesn’t make sense.

How the sync works

Two-way sync

Under the hood

Connected with your Toggl Track API token — timer events stream from Fokus to Toggl as they happen, and completions post entries with the tracked duration.

  • You start the timer on a task in Fokus

A Toggl timer starts on the mapped project

  • You pause or stop the timer

    Toggl follows, to the second

  • You complete a task with tracked time

A Toggl time entry is created for it

Settings, explained

The controls you actually get after connecting — exactly as they appear in Settings → Integrations.

Preferences

Preferences set the defaults; Bucket Mappings override them per bucket:

  • Track all tasks by default

Sync the timer to Toggl for every task — unless a bucket mapping says otherwise.

  • Sync on task completion

Create a Toggl entry with the tracked time whenever a task completes.

  • Default Workspace

Where entries land when no bucket mapping applies.

  • Default Project

The fallback project for unmapped tasks. Default billable is available on Toggl premium plans.

  • Bucket Mappings

    • Deep work → Engineering
    • Admin → Operations

Per-bucket rules: workspace, project, tags and billable — each mapping has its own enable switch.

Panel shown as it appears in the Fokus app. Every control is optional — defaults work out of the box.
