Delete Your Fokus Account
Last updated: August 25, 2026
You can delete your Fokus account, and everything stored in it, at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — there is no grace period and no way for us to restore the account afterwards. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan in the app instead; that keeps your data.
1. Delete it yourself
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
In the mobile app:
- Tap your profile avatar, to the left of the sheet handle
- Open Account
- Choose Delete account at the bottom
- Type your email address to confirm
On the web:
- Go to web.getfokus.com/settings/profile
- Choose Delete account, then type your email address to confirm
Your account is locked and every sign-in session is revoked the moment you confirm. The data itself is then erased in the background, normally within minutes.
2. If you can no longer sign in
You do not need the app, or a working password, to have your account deleted. Email privacy@getfokus.com from the address the account is registered under, with the subject Delete my account.
We will confirm we are talking to the account owner and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually far sooner. If you cannot email us from that address, write to us anyway and we will tell you what else we need to establish ownership.
3. If you own a shared workspace
Deleting your account also deletes every workspace you own. To stop that from erasing other people's work, Fokus blocks deletion while you still own a workspace that has other active members, and tells you which one. Transfer ownership to another member first, or remove the other members, then delete your account.
Workspaces where you are a member rather than the owner are unaffected — you are simply removed from them.
4. What gets deleted
Everything below is erased from our systems, not merely hidden or marked inactive:
- Your profile, password and sign-in sessions
- Tasks, calendar events, notes and note templates, objectives, buckets, reminders and tags
- Calendars and every connected integration, including the access tokens for them
- Booking pages, their availability slots and the bookings made against them
- Contacts and the sources your data was imported from
- Uploaded files, meeting and voice recordings, synthesised briefing audio, and images attached to chats
- Captain Fokus chat threads and messages, their conversation checkpoints, and everything the assistant had remembered about you
- Insight reports, usage records, survey responses and analytics tied to your account
- Notifications and registered push devices
- Email messages and suggestions held for the mail features
- Workspaces you own, your memberships, and invitations you sent
- Your entries in the knowledge graph that powers the assistant's search
Your saved payment card is erased and any active subscription is cancelled as part of the same process.
5. What we keep, and for how long
Two narrow exceptions, both required of us rather than chosen:
- An anonymised billing record. Tax and accounting law requires us to keep a trail of subscriptions and orders. What remains is stripped of the personal details that identify you and cannot be used to reconstruct your account or its contents.
- Encrypted backups, for up to 30 days. Our databases are backed up on a rolling schedule, so a copy of your data can survive in a backup snapshot for up to 30 days after deletion. Those snapshots are encrypted, are never used to serve the product, and expire automatically. We do not restore deleted accounts from them.
6. Questions
Email privacy@getfokus.com and a person will answer. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why while your account is open.
