Apple Calendar

Calendars & Scheduling

Two-way sync

Your iPhone calendar, working with your tasks.

Fokus syncs the iCloud calendars you choose, both ways. Meetings you accept on your phone land beside your tasks, and the time blocks you plan in Fokus show up on every Apple device you own.

What Fokus adds

Not a mirror of the other tool — capabilities that only exist once the two are connected.

Events and tasks on one timeline

iCloud events render right beside your tasks and time blocks, so the plan you make is based on the day you actually have — conflicts are visible before they happen.

Create and edit from either side

Drag a task into a gap in Fokus and the event appears in Apple Calendar. Move a meeting on your iPhone and your Fokus day updates. Neither side is a read-only mirror.

Every device stays in step

Because the sync runs through iCloud rather than one device, a block you plan at your desk is on your phone and iPad without opening anything.

Auto-scheduling respects your meetings

When Fokus plans your tasks, every synced Apple event counts as busy time — the scheduler fills the gaps, never double-books them.

How the sync works

Two-way sync

Under the hood

A CalDAV connection to iCloud, secured with an Apple app-specific password. Apple offers no way to push calendar changes to other apps, so Fokus checks for updates about every five minutes — using change tags so only what actually moved is fetched. Changes you make in Fokus are written to iCloud immediately.

  • A meeting is moved on your iPhone

Your Fokus timeline reshuffles within a few minutes

  • You drag a task into a gap in Fokus

A calendar event appears in iCloud

  • You edit an event in Fokus

The change is written back to iCloud

Settings, explained

The controls you actually get after connecting — exactly as they appear in Settings → Integrations.

Manage Calendars

Right after connecting, Fokus asks which calendars to sync — everything starts switched off, so nothing appears until you choose it. You can change the selection any time from this panel.

  • Toggle calendars to enable or disable event syncing

    • Home
    • Work
    • Family
    • Subscribed (read-only)

Every calendar in your iCloud account gets its own switch. Calendars shared by someone else sync in but stay read-only, since iCloud will not accept changes to them.
